On the evening of Saturday 12-29-07 the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a armed robbery on Carr Rd.. The resident/victim was sitting at home with a 16 year old juvenile friend when a male entered his residence with a gun and ordered him to give over his money. The juvenile in the residence was used a decoy and has been arrested in connection with the robbery and charged with Complicity to Aggravated Robbery. It is believed that the armed suspect fled to & is staying in Columbus.

The suspect has been identified as Nicholas A. Brown.
Nicholas is age 18, black male, height app. 6′ tall, weighing app. 220 lbs., brown hair & brown eyes. Nicholas is considered armed and dangerous at this time.
Nicholas is at large as of the time of this release.
Any persons with information as to the whereabouts of Nicholas A. Brown are urged to contact the Columbus Police Department or the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

Adam Smallwood age 39 of Albany was arrested for Domestic Violence by threats and Driving Under Suspension after Sheriff’s Office had been notified by Vinton County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a well being check in Albany on Adam Smallwood due to reports of possibly wanting to harm himself and he may be accompany by his wife a Tami Smallwood in a 1996 Jeep Cherokee, Sheriff’s Deputies located Adam Smallwood driving a bronze color Jeep Cherokee on Washington Road Albany, vehicle was stopped and Mr. Smallwood was taken into custody without incident, Tami Smallwood the spouse was also located in the vehicle and she advised Sheriff’s Deputies that Adam Smallwood had made threats to kill her and that he had been driving her around on different back roads for several hours and had gone to several of his friends residence trying to acquire a firearm. Adam Smallwood was transported to the Regional Jail and held pending court hearing.
