The Athens County Sheriff, Vern Castle, has issued a Level 2 snow emergency for Athens County.  At this time we have a lot of accidents on the main routes.

A level two-snow advisory means that roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads can be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. People should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Obviously, if you are driving, use extreme caution.

This will remain in effect until further notice.  Please check your local news agency for up to date information.
