On 02-18-08, Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office arrested Homer Dillon DOB 01-13-88 for pulling a knife on his father and then hiding behind a dumpster telling people he was going to stab and shoot Officers when they arrived on scene. Homer was taken into custody by Deputies with help from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Officers were able to take Mr. Dillon into custody without incident.

On February 16th and 17th, 2008 between the hours of 9:50 PM and 1:00 AM person or persons unknown at this time cut the fence on the American Electric Power Station on Poston Road and removed wiring from transformers, breakers and tower legs causing some 492 American Electric Power customers to be without power. The estimated loss in material and manpower to fix this problem was quoted from an employee at American Electric Power to be in the neighborhood of $20,000.00
