Lisa Roberts stated an unknown individual entered the Friends and Neighbors Center and removed some medication and some medical equipment.

Fruith Pharmacy Athens reported shoplifter, suspect left scene prior to Sheriff’s Office arrival, information was obtained from store on suspect and charges will be filed through municipal court.

On 10-18-08 I was dispatched to meet with Norfolk & Southern employees at 682 near the AEP Office in reference to one of their trains striking a horse on the rail line. Units were taken to the scene and located the horse which was still standing but had a leg nearly severed. Deputies recognized the horse as it was loose just 5 days prior. Dispatch was able to locate the owner a Richard Shaw. Deputies contacted a licensed veterinarian whom responded to the scene. The horse was euthanized by the veterinarian on scene due to it’s injury. Richard Shaw was charged for the animal running at large.

Sara Giffen advised ACSO that her son is wanted by Juvenile Court and has run away. At the present he has not been located.

Brian M. Masters of 34 North Street Apt. 301 The Plains, Ohio was arrested infront of 92 North Plains Road The Plains, Ohio after Sgt. Childs observed Mr. Masters having difficulty walking and when stopped officer could detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on or about Mr. Masters person, Mr. Masters was arrested and transported to Regional Jail until sober.

Complainant advised he has coins missing. This individual was released from the mental health facility recently. ACSO is following up on this case.

On 10-06-08, Sgt. Steve Sedwick and Deputy Jerry Hallowell arrested Gregory W. Bishop at 36 Poston rd. Apartment 14 for Domestic violence against his live in partner. During the investigation, Mr. Bishop was also charged with Obstructing Official business and possession of marijuana.
